The UnTextbook is a magical place,
full of vast lands from far far away, mythical creatures, furious beast, and
extraordinary hero’s triumphing over evil. The immense collection of stories
and lore found inside the UnTextbook really excites me for the weeks to come. As
I browsed the shelves a handful of the story units caught my eye. I started at
the top with A and the first to catch my eye was Alaska, Its ambiguity peaked
my interest. http://mythfolklore.blogspot.com/search/label/Unit%3A%20Alaska
I thought the tales of the animals and Inuit
stories of creation and light looked very interesting, so I was excited to see
that there was an Eskimo Folk Tales unit. Now don’t get me wrong here, I never
thought that I would be so fascinated with Inuit culture, but the stories are
full crazy stuff like the spirit world, ghosts and ZOMBIES!
There was still quite a handful of
other equally as intriguing selections left to choose from, ranging from
classic tales of Beowulf and Sinbad to stories of Monkey Kings and Goblins. I
have quite a list of stories I look forward to exploring in the weeks to come.
