1) Sinbad the Sailor
Sinbad is a sailor from One Thousand and One Nights that is telling his stories of how he became wealthy to a young porter that is also named Sinbad. The wealthy Sinbad shares his many adventures from his seven voyages.
2) Roc
A roc is a mythical bird from the middle east. They describe it to be as big as a mountain and some illustrations show it carrying an elephant!
3) Ferdinand Magellan
Ferdinand Magellan was the first person to (almost) sail around the world! Unfortunately he died in the Philippines and was unable to complete the journey back home to Portugal.
4) Megellanic Penguin
The Megellanic penguins can be found in South America. These penguins can live up to 25 years in the wild and love to eat cuttlefish, squid, and jellyfish.
