Yamato got bored with his wife, so he went on an adventure looking for love with his lost siren. Once he heard her voice he traveled all the way to a cave. Apparently this cave was known for being a trap, but our young and foolish hero deemed the risk necessary to find love. No monster could stop him in his search to find his lost siren.
Odysseus and Sirens from wikipedia |
Turns out his siren was Benten, Goddess of Deathless Love (which I am unsure as to what that means). Yamato was completely infatuated with Benton. He even groveled at her throne begging her to love him, otherwise he would die.
Benton teased and flirted with the poor young man and then threw him off her. She then told him that to gain her love he must dare death. Yamato, being head over heels in love with a goddess he just met said he would do absolutely anything for her love. Benton then told Yamato that he must sail to Horaizan and retrieve the Golden Apple of Immortal Youth. Once he has done this, he will win her unending love.
The way this is going, it reminds me of something one of my high school teacher's used to say, "behind the downfall of every man lurks a woman." I feel like the way this story is going it may not work out the best for Yamato.
