The Fox and the Crow- a fox saw a
crow fly off with a piece of cheese in his beak and wanted to take it or
himself. The fox complimented the bird on his looks and beautiful singing
voice. He asked him to sing him a song. When the crow went to sing and opened
his mouth the cheese fell to the fox below. "That was all I wanted. In exchange for your cheese I
will give you a piece of advice for the future: Do not trust flatterers."
The crow
and the pitcher- a very thirsty crow came across a pitcher of water, with very
little left in it. So little that he could not reach the water with his beak.
The crow then started to put rocks in the pitcher one by one until at last the
water seemed to rise and he was able to drink form the pitcher. Little by little does the trick
The
Tortoise and the birds- a tortoise one day really wanted to change his home up
so he asked an eagle to carry him to find a new home. The eagle picked him up
and carried him off. A crow flew up and suggested they eat him, they could
smash his hard shell on the harder rocks below and so they did just that. Never
soar aloft on an enemy's pinions.
The jay
and the Peacock- A jay flew into the peacocks yard and found a bunch of their
feathers. He decided to try them on so he tied them to his tail. When the
peacocks saw they plucked and peaked all the feathers off of him. Jay went home
to the other jays who were also mad at him, "It is not only fine
feathers that make fine birds."
